How to Obtain a DGCA Class 2 Medical Certificate?
To Obtain your DGCA Class 2 Medical Certificate you will have to follow these steps –
Step 1 :
Before you start, read the user handbook from cover to cover. You must first complete your registration on the eGCA website before beginning the Class II Medical procedure. On the Login screen, select Sign Up and fill in your information. As your registration is approved, you will be given a special login ID for eGCA. For future usage, store this ID and password in a safe place.
Step 2 :
Moving on to the second step for the DGCA Class II Medical Examination, take a look at the DGCA-approved Medical Examiners list and find one that is closest to you, arrange an appointment by contacting the Medical Examiner using the Contact Details provided. To see the list of certified Class II medical Doctors, visit the eGCA website. Once you have scheduled an appointment, the doctor will outline the necessary tests for your Medical Examination. You will have two options depending on the Doctor’ Preference

Step 3 :
Once you have completed all of the necessary tests, the doctor will review and endorse all your reports, and issue CA-35.
The doctor will then forward your application and the medical examination reports to the DGCA, Delhi, for approval and further processing or Upload it to eGCA for approval. You will receive your Class II Medical Assessment within one month.
Step 4 :
Upon receiving your Class 2 medical documents, DGCA will generate a new file in your name, assigning a unique file number, and your Class 2 Medical Assessment and Certificate will be uploaded onto the eGCA portal.

Blood Test: Blood samples are drawn to examine various parameters, including Total Count/Differential Count (TC/DC) to detect signs of infection or inflammation, Haemoglobin level to ensure adequate oxygen-carrying capacity, and Blood Group and Rh Factor (ABO and Rh). Tests for liver and renal function, lipid profiles, blood sugar levels, and other metabolic problems that could significantly impair a pilot’s performance during flight may also be included.
Urine Test: This Examination check ensures normal levels of sugar and protein in the urine, which can indicate underlying health conditions such as diabetes or kidney disease.
Note: In case your BMI is not in the normal range, usually above the normal range you will be required to get additional tests done. We recommend trying to keep your BMI within the normal range to ensure you have no issues.
Validity of DGCA Class 2 Medical Certificate
For SPL holders undergoing training in India, the validity of the DGCA Class II medical certificate is 24 months. while the DGCA Class I medical certificate remains valid for 12 months.
The DGCA Class II medical certificate is valid for 24 months for PPL students.

Step 1 :

Step 2 :
Scheduling Appointments and Sending Previous Medical Records When it comes to scheduling appointments at IAF Centres, it is advised to make appointments well in advance to allow for the necessary time required for appointments and forwarding of Previous Medical Records (PMR) from DGCA. Information on appointment procedures can be found on the DGCA website within the Medical Section. If you need to check the status of your PMR, you can do so by contacting the SO Medical Cell at DGCA HQ or visiting during the designated public days. PMR files are typically sent to IAF Centres 2-3 weeks ahead of the appointment date.

For Civil Centres and Class 1 Examiners, there is no need for PMR forwarding for initial medical examinations. Air Force Medical Examination Centers and Class 1 Medical Examiners are qualified to perform renewal medical examinations.
